Manuscript Title: Improvement in Accuracy for Design of Multidielectric Layers Microstrip Patch Antenna
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-3-296
| Abstract: The characteristics of the microstrip
antenna can be significantly improved by using
multidielectric-layered structures with thin/thick
substrates and low permittivity materials. In this
paper multidielectric layer antenna has been
designed using conformal mapping techniques with
improved accuracy. Effect of inaccuracies which
can have compounding effect from the design stage
to fabrication of multidielectric layer microstrip
antenna has been eliminated by formulating an
algorithm. The algorithm has been successfully
tested on both thin and thick dielectric substrate
using low permittivity substrate. The antenna
designed for the given resonant frequency has been
observed to be corresponding to the patch
dimension with accuracy exactly to sixth decimal
place. Momentum results show that the design
antenna performance tally with the theoretical
calculated parameters.

Manuscript Title: Modeling of Elevated Coplanar Waveguides for High Speed Digital Circuits
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-3-298
Abstract: In high speed sampling and timing circuits, a transmission line having characteristics of higher phase velocity, higher impedance, low insertion loss is preferred. Elevated coplanar waveguide (ECPW) has been identified as the transmission line to achieve such characteristics. Mesh less collocation method for analyzing the ECPW structure is proposed. The quasi - static parameters such as characteristic impedance (Zo) and effective dielectric constant (εreff) for various slot widths are obtained and compared with reported data. An equivalent circuit model for ECPW is proposed and the Radio frequency (RF) performance is obtained based on the results from quasi-static analysis. The proposed model reveals that the return loss of ECPW is less compared to the CPW geometries making it a good candidate for high speed switching applications.

Manuscript Title: Modeling of Split-ring type Defected Ground Structure as Elliptic Filter
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-4-299
Abstract: A split-ring defected ground structure (DGS) under microstrip line is modeled. The frequency characteristics of the proposed DGS unit show an attenuation zero close to its attenuation pole frequency. The unit cell is modeled by 3rd order elliptical lowpass filter and an equivalent circuit is presented accordingly. The influence of split-gap variation for DGS unit on pole frequency is investigated. Two such unit cells with different pole frequencies cascaded under microstrip line realize a sharp and deep bandstop filter. A coupled gap resonator over a DGS unit realized a bandpass filter.

Manuscript Title: Quasi-2D Frequency-Domain Physical Modeling of MOSFETs by the Spectral Balance Technique
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-5-315
Abstract: In this work an approach is described in which the Spectral Balance technique is applied to a Quasi-2-Dimensional hydrodynamic model for the physical analysis of MOSFET devices in DC and RF regime. The frequency-domain Spectral Balance technique is a viable alternative to the mixed-domain Harmonic Balance technique. In particular the completely frequency-domain approach allows a straightforward coupling to the passive external environment, and the easy inclusion of frequency-dependent parameters of the semiconductor. Results for a 0.35µm MOSFET are presented and compared to those of a standard physical time-domain approach, and of commercial CAD tools with a compact model for circuit analysis, showing the suitability of the technique.

Manuscript Title: Synthesis of Linear Arrays with Sidelobe Level Reduction Constraint using Genetic Algorithms
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-5-318
| Abstract: The synthesis of uniformly spaced linear
array geometries with minimum sidelobe level and null
control capability using genetic algorithms is presented.
The iterative process aims not only at matching the
desired pattern to the desired one but minimizing the
sidelobe level as well, through optimizing the element
excitations. Various examples are included to
demonstrate the design effectiveness and flexibility for
modern MIMO systems and smart antenna applications. |

Manuscript Title: Analysis of Phasing Elements in Reflectarray Antennas Using HFSS
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-6-327
| Abstract: This article presents different types of phase shifter elements which
are using in reflectarrays. The power and the strength of High Frequency
Structure Simulator (HFSS) in analyzing of reflectarray antennas are exhibited.
The results achieved here are in good agreement with those reported in literature.
Advantages and disadvantages of each design are completely clarified and the
reason of why each of the schemes is replaced by an improved one is explained. |

Manuscript Title: A Rigorous Study of Complex Modes by Applying the Transverse Operator in a Rectangular Guide of Ferrites
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-8-384
| Abstract: In hyper-frequencies, the ferrites are characterized by a tonsorial permeability, which represent their inducted anisotropy under a magnetic field. This specific property makes the good formulation of the "Maxwell equation" harder.
In this paper, a rigorous study of the formulation of the transverse operation method (TOM) is presented by a homogeneous rectangular structure of ferrites with transverse anisotropy which will be followed by the application of the Galerkin Method.
Our study is essentially focused on the determination of the propagation constant and the electromagnetic fields in a rectangular waveguide of ferrites magnetised longitudinally by a static magnetic field, we’ll show the existence of complex modes in the ferrite structure.

Manuscript Title: RF Analysis of Nano Transmission Lines using Meshless Method
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-5-308
Abstract: Quasi-static analysis of nano transmission lines using collocation method is presented. Collocation approach – a mesh less technique is more efficient in computation as compared with other regular discretisation approaches due to its adaptive nature. Numerical results for characteristic impedances (Zo) of nano transmission lines obtained using quasi-static capacitance are presented. Validation is done by comparing the obtained results with Littuinger liquid theory model and good agreement is obtained. The electromagnetic simulation of the lumped element model of the carbon nano tube is done using ADS.

Manuscript Title: A drive circuit system based on a commercially available logic IC for low-cost optical transmitters and transceivers
Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-8-382
Abstract: This paper proposes a drive circuit system using a commercially available logic IC to enable a simple and low-cost optical transmitter and transceiver for short-range communication. These achieve broadband home network and large-throughput optical interconnection. According to the proposed drive circuit, we have fabricated a low-cost optical transceiver with proposed simple circuit configuration that consists of low-cost and high-speed optical devices and commercially available logic ICs. Experimental results show that our proposed circuits and fabricated optical transceivers can play a key role in short-range optical network.

Manuscript Id: IJMOT-2008-8-383
Abstract: In this paper, an all-optical switch based on semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA) and Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) monolithically integrated in a ‘Gain Shifted’ (GS) Mach- Zehnder interferometer (MZI) have been designed. The effect of variations of output power in respect of control signal wavelength, data signal power and control signal power are measured and plotted. The switch is designed with GS switching scheme to achieve high contrast ratio and the monolithic integration provides the required stability. Also the optical spectrum and time domain analysis of the proposed switch is done integrated with SOA and EDFA.
